Journey Of A Tarot Reader Serious research on the possible influence of the Mother Goddess Religion on the concept of Tarot

In 2006 Ella Jo made a trip to Greece to read Tarot on the beaches. Her journal reveals the realities of a Bohemian beach community life and the story unfolds as she decides to go exploring. Influenced by her desire to find the origins of the Tarot, she travels to Turkey to look for evidence. In 2005, Ella Jo visited India, finding evidence for the original structure of the Tarot cards; this 2006 journal charts her search in the Middle East.

Ella Jo relates her journey from Santorini to Crete and Rhodes, then on to Turkey returning to the UK through Bulgaria, Hungary and the Czech Republic. The book makes entertaining reading as she tells of her encounters with people and places she found on her journey.

The second part of the book, headed ‘Notes’, takes a deeper look at the subjects uncovered in her journey. She presents serious research on the possible influence of the Mother Goddess Religion on the concept of Tarot, seeking linguistic and historical material to provide insights. Ella Jo also investigates the mystery of Tarot’s appearance in Europe, providing glimpses of evidence from surviving historical data.

Nostramus announce the release of a re-tweaked and re-mastered version of the 1997 album ‘Earthlights’.

The original ‘Earthlights’ was first released in the UK in 1997 by ‘Recordings of Substance’ followed by ‘Shadow Records’ who licensed it for the US market in 1998.

The brand new ‘Earthlights Re-mastered’, will be available from the online label, ‘Diamond Seeds Productions’ in early 2010. Nostramus will be joining other artists including Ella Jo on the new label, which will be making full use of new web fulfilment strategies for online mail order and downloading facilities.

Nostramus founding member Steve Spon has returned to the original source master tapes in order to complete this work.

“Although I was reasonably happy with the original mastering of Earthlights, I have since become a lot more fluent with audio mastering techniques. In this edition, I have returned to the source master tapes, taking care with every step of the process in order to retain the original concept and flow. I feel I have now created a much more considered dynamic to the sound-scape, hopefully bringing the whole thing up to today’s audio standards and listen ability.

Aside from the re-mastering, I have re-edited and re-mixed ‘Babel’ the opening track to the album, mixing in some new warped-up Amen from the un-released Jungle version of Babel. There are also one or two other new samples, subtly crafted into some of the other pieces to spice up the mix. Overall, I am much happier now with the sound and flow of the re-mastered album and I hope the listener will enjoy it even more”

‘Earthlights Re-mastered 2010’ comes repackaged in a standard jewel case with new artwork to boot. Retailing at £10.00 including shipping, the album will be available from www.diamondseeds.co.uk from early January 2010 on mail order and on download, a little later.

Nostramus’s Steve Spon, is now working on the long awaited follow-up to the first album, which has the working title of ‘Earthlights II’. It is hoped that this will see the light of day in the spring of 2010.

Diamond Seeds are pleased to announce the hosting of Ella Jo’s albums on our site through our on line services.
Ella Jo's three albums signed to Diamond SeedsEJ has written and produced four albums to date, each with ten original songs. Limits Of Milkweed, Alter Ego, Attitude is Everything and Almost Anglo Saxon. These albums span the genres as she embraces neo folk to unapologetic popular music but also incorporates drum and bass grooves, acapella, and classic vibes of bond movie stature. All the songs are woven together with al fresco style singing and strong lyrics. The albums are enhanced by amusing sound-scapes, using interesting concepts and montaging techniques.

Welcome to the Diamond Seeds Blog.

This Blog is to accompany the www.diamondseeds.co.uk website.

We aim to create a website that will be an alternative to the mainstream. It will contain an online store for music and books, also mail order CDs and other creative products.

We are a non-corporate, commercial site, with a community flavour. Our wish is to sell our self-created wares under the Diamond Seeds umbrella. In the future you will find more of our products as our creative projects come to fruition. Where possible, we will use the latest technology to deliver our goods for the market place.

There will be a monthly podcast which will be archived for future downloads and listeners can follow up any music that is featured.
